An applicant (Speaker 6) presented a proposal to install a wall sign on the second floor of the two‑story brick building at 401 College Street, corner of College and McAllen. The applicant said the sign dimensions meet the requirement that a wall sign not exceed 60% of the wall area, that it does not project above the roofline, and that it will be located where goods or services are offered. The applicant clarified the sign will not be backlit.
"It will not be backlit, actually, there won't be a light on it," Speaker 6 said. The property owner has approved attaching the sign to the building and the applicant provided scaled images in the packet to illustrate placement.
A motion to approve the proposed sign was moved and seconded, the commission voted in favor and the motion passed. Staff did not note any required follow‑up beyond standard permitting and attachment approvals.
