The Morris Township Planning Board on Dec. 1 formally recognized Sonia Santiago, who announced her retirement effective December 2025 after more than two decades in municipal service. The board presented a proclamation that summarized her municipal career, noting service in the building and engineering department, tax and sewer department, and long tenure as secretary to several land-use boards including the planning board, board of adjustment and open-space committee.

The proclamation noted Ms. Santiago’s certifications, organizational skills, attention to detail and the benefits her institutional knowledge provided to the township. Board members expressed appreciation and extended best wishes to Santiago and her family.
