Palm Beach County commissioners voted unanimously to adopt revisions to the county's emergency medical services (EMS) ordinance, including a change raising the years-of-experience requirement for the company manager from three years to five.

Stephanie Schanha, director of public safety, summarized the ordinance and noted staff had earlier presented the measure on November 4. The board received and filed the publication and approved the ordinance on final action. Commissioner Flores asked to confirm the manager experience change from three to five years; staff confirmed the change and the board approved the item 7-0.

Staff said all other November revisions remained in place and that the change reflected commissioner direction intended to strengthen management experience standards in EMS procurement and oversight. The ordinance was adopted on a recorded voice vote; staff indicated the standard would be implemented as part of the procurement and contracting process.
