County planning staff announced at the Dec. 2 meeting that the comprehensive-plan update consultant has launched a project website, www.pitcoplan.com, and that applications are open for residents to serve on a steering/advisory committee. Staff said the site went live just before Thanksgiving and that applications will be screened blindly; the county is seeking roughly 15–20 participants. The application deadline is Dec. 18.

Staff emphasized that the advisory committee will be an input body to the comprehensive-plan project and that participation is open to interested county residents. The announcement included a screenshot of the site shown on the meeting display.

Next steps: staff will accept applications through Dec. 18, screen them blind, and report back to the commission on selections and committee membership.
