At the Wallingford-Swarthmore policy committee meeting, audience member Ashwini Agmar urged the district to incorporate materials from state-level EHRC training into the equity policy’s administrative regulation.
"They are going to send us some documentation and links, and I just want to make sure that I can share that with you guys as we have it," Agmar said, offering to consolidate materials for the district’s review.
Board members discussed whether the second reading should be delayed to incorporate that input. The chair and other members said the AR — not the policy text — is the proper place for deeper procedural and implementation detail, and that the AR would be developed after the committee’s second reading. The chair told the committee the AR will not be ready for the December board packet and staff anticipates completing it later, with January as a target.
A board member noted PSBA offers free equity and community-engagement trainings and encouraged colleagues to consider those resources as well.
The committee did not take any further action on the equity text at the meeting beyond moving it forward for the board’s consideration; staff will incorporate public-submitted materials into AR drafting as appropriate.
