The Albany County Board of Commissioners voted Oct. 21 to award a bid to Wyoming Machinery Company for one 2025 Caterpillar 140 all‑wheel‑drive motor grader at $285,550, including a nine‑year total machine warranty.
Road and Bridge staff explained the purchase replaces a machine coming off warranty and noted two bids were received: RDO/John Deere at $299,005.70 and Wyoming Machinery at $285,550. Staff emphasized the warranty value: "that also includes a 9 year total machine warranty," a presenter said, noting recent expensive repairs would have been costly without warranty coverage.
Commissioners recorded the award as a purchase from the 2018 specific purpose tax line and approved both the bid award and the associated purchase/trade‑in agreement.
Next steps: procurement and trade‑in paperwork will be completed and the machine will be placed in service by Road & Bridge according to departmental procedures.
