Ada County commissioners approve grants, permits and agreements; table bid award for victim services

Ada County commissioners used their Oct. 28 open-business meeting to approve a series of routine but consequential items — including grant awards, licensing, contracts, and a landfill disposal request — and to table a bid award for further review.
Procurement staff opened 12 bids for the Ada County Victim Services tenant improvements (Bid 26003) and listed total bid amounts; staff asked the board to table award of the contract so staff could review the bids and return with a recommendation. The board voted to table the award to the Nov. 4 open business meeting.
Among approvals, the board:
- Authorized payment of the claims journal dated Oct. 24, 2024. - Approved 10 catering permits and a new license and authorized the chair to sign related documents. - Approved the final plat for Hazel Center Subdivision No. 2 (one commercial lot) and authorized the chair to sign and stamp the plat. - Approved a VOCA grant award (grant award number 2503-B) that requires no county match and authorized the trial court administrator, Sandra Barrios, to electronically sign acceptance. - Approved the use of CAMA capital project funds for assessor consulting fees. - Approved change order No. 1 for the Sheriff's Office restroom upgrades extending the completion date. - Approved a request from the city of Cascade to dispose of approximately 1,100 feet of asbestos-containing pipe at the Ada County landfill, subject to testing, packaging and the landfill's handling procedures and an out-of-county fee ($58.50 per ton). - Approved 23 agreements (mostly renewals) listed on the agenda and the weekly indigent services recommendations dated Oct. 28, 2025.
Several approvals were completed by voice vote with the chair authorized to sign documents on behalf of the board. The tabled bid award will return to the Nov. 4 open-business meeting for an award recommendation.
