At its Nov. 4 meeting the Ada County Board of Commissioners approved several budget and administrative resolutions.
Resolution 3136 amends the county’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARP) budget as listed on the agenda; the chair opened and closed the public hearing with no public comment and the board approved the resolution by motion and voice vote.
Resolution 3138 adjusts the county budget to receive scheduled revenue in the Emergency Management Department; the hearing was closed with no comments and the board approved the resolution by motion.
Resolution 3139, introduced by the landfill director, establishes a process to allocate financial assurance funds for the Ada County Landfill by creating separate categories for closure, post-closure and corrective action liabilities. The landfill director said state statute and federal regulations require maintenance of those funds and that splitting the single fund into separate accounts will increase transparency of cash balances and liabilities. The board moved and approved Resolution 3139 and directed staff to work with the clerk’s office to create the accounts and move funds appropriately.
Resolution 3140 authorizes conveyance of surplus office chairs from Ada County to the Idaho State Public Defender; no objections were raised and the resolution was approved by voice vote.
All four items were approved on the record by board motion and voice vote. Where action requires future administrative steps—such as creation of accounting sub-accounts for landfill assurance funds—staff were directed to coordinate with the clerk’s office to implement the changes.
