The Agua Fria Union High School District governing board voted Oct. 1 to approve the district—s fiscal year 2025 Annual Financial Report (AFR).
"We are a growing district," the finance presenter said while describing the AFR—s fund structure and the year-end close process. He told the board the AFR is a prescribed format from the auditor general—s office and that, once approved by the board, the district will publish the AFR, upload it to the Arizona Department of Education and provide it to the Maricopa County superintendent—s office.
The presenter described next steps for the audit team and said the district expects its comprehensive annual financial report and audit materials to be available in the early part of the year following the AFR. After the presentation, the board moved and the AFR was approved by roll-call-style affirmations recorded in the meeting transcript (members recorded as voting yes included Silk, Colton, Fulton, Lewis and Acting).
What happens next: staff said the AFR will be posted publicly and audit work will continue; a likely budget revision will follow in December once actual enrollments are confirmed.
