The Amherst Central School District Board of Education paused its agenda to recognize students and teachers of the month for September and October.
Supervisor (Mister Pinnell) introduced the segment and student ex officio Olivia Hidalgo and invited presentations. Nominators and presenters described academic, artistic and service achievements: Ethan McNamara was praised for language skills and musicianship; Rebecca Enser was described as hardworking and generous; Ridwan Karim and Haya were recognized for classroom engagement and advanced coursework; and teachers Mr. Newport, Mr. Berger, Miss Klein and Miss Buckley were honored for instructional support, devotion to the arts and hands‑on learning.
Student/Presenter (S3) summarized Ethan McNamara's accomplishments in Spanish and music, saying he "is a reliable, dedicated student who is consistently demonstrating outstanding musicianship and work ethic." The board thanked the students and teachers for their contributions before moving on to the next agenda item.
The recognitions were presented during the regular meeting; no formal action was required.
