Acadia Parish School Board approves 2026 calendar, receives reports and adjourns

At its Nov. 18 meeting the Acadia Parish School Board approved the recommended 2026 board and committee meeting calendar by voice vote. Miss Higginbotham moved to accept the calendar and Mister Quibido seconded; the board indicated 'Aye' and the motion carried.
The board also heard a budget overview and insurance briefing from district staff, received a Head Start update (including a request that board members complete program governance training and a note that Head Start serves 31 students with disabilities), and received a transportation operations presentation from its contractor. No procurement decisions or contract amendments were voted on during the meeting.
Before adjourning, Miss Atkinson moved to adjourn and Miss David seconded; the board voted 'Aye' and the meeting was closed.
