The Wenatchee School District board elected officers and approved routine business at its Dec. 2 meeting.
After the consent agenda passed on a motion from Julie and a second from Mark, the board held nominations under board policy 12-10. Tucker Jackson received the nomination for president and was elected by roll call; several members (including Julie, Maria, Mark and Caroline) voted "aye," and Jackson also cast his vote for himself when asked. Maria was subsequently nominated and elected vice president by majority roll call; the chair announced she received the majority of votes.
Later in the meeting the board considered second readings of policies 16-30, 34-25, 18-20, 18-21, 10-05 and 12-10. Julie moved approval and Caroline seconded; the chair called the voice vote and announced the motion carries with no recorded opposition.
There were no citizen comments at the meeting and the board proceeded to its special presentations and superintendent report before adjourning.
