An unnamed finance presenter told the Bulldog Parish School Board on Oct. 6 that, as of 09:30, 'all of our district funds are showing a balanced status' and that the district is 'positive on all of them.'
The same presenter reported sharp year-over-year increases in two sales-tax lines: 'Our sales tax 1966 is showing a 41.81% increase over last year's collection, and sales tax 90 is showing a 42.85% increase over last year's collection.' Board members asked whether the district had a breakdown of where the increases originated; the presenter said the district does not receive a listing showing sources, only the total amounts collected.
Board members characterized the numbers as a welcome trend; the presenter said the uptick has been apparent since the start of the fiscal year. No policy action was taken on the report; the figures were presented as part of routine financial reporting and will inform upcoming budget work and bond-related decisions.
