During the announcements portion of the Oct. 7 meeting, councilors provided several community notices and event details.
Councilor Bridal announced a free seasonal family flu walk-in clinic on Oct. 22 from 3–7 p.m. at Cahill Auditorium, open to adults 18 and older and students in grades 5–12; attendees should bring insurance cards and those age 18 should bring a parent or guardian. Councilor Flaherty invited residents to an American Legion Post 86 event commemorating the 200th birthday of the U.S. Navy on Oct. 10 at 10 a.m.
Councilor Maggio described a series of FRACS 4 River Basin Summit sessions on health, safety and the environment with speakers Dr. Philip Landrigan (recorded session), Dr. Nathan Phillips (Oct. 14) and Dr. Sandra Steingraber (Oct. 21), and announced an East Braintree Candidates Forum on Oct. 16 at 7 p.m., moderated by Tamisha Civillehi and broadcast on BCAM.
Councilor Ringuis also notified the council of the unexpected death of former Superintendent Dr. Maureen Murray Adamson and asked attendees to keep her family in their prayers.
