The Board rejected all bids for inmate medical services at the detention center because bids exceeded the budget, directed staff to reissue an RFP, and approved a short extension (60 days) of the CoreHealth inmate medical and mental-health services agreement while the new solicitation proceeds.
Public hearings and community input: multiple public hearings were held and closed earlier in the meeting, including transfer of a retail liquor license (approved on the agenda), multiple zoning district amendments and conditional-use requests. Public commenters supported some projects (a letter urging approval of the Point North industrial plat), raised concerns about short-term rentals and the Morris House code compliance, and praised sheriff's office staff for response in a recent identity-theft case.
Administrative items: The Board approved the IPAWS memorandum of understanding with FEMA for emergency alerts (no cost), approved October vouchers and adjourned.
