Lambert and other presenters described a mechanical failure of the main panorama chairlift this past season. The presenters said a planetary gearbox failed unexpectedly and that staff sourced a replacement and restored service after five days of downtime. Officials said they used the outage to inspect and refurbish related components and to upgrade monitoring and communications systems.
The delegation also heard that most recent upgrades were paid from operations rather than debt. "Nothing was financed," a presenter said; the group added that one bond remains outstanding but that other obligations have been paid off.
During the meeting the delegation considered appointing a commissioner to a second term.
