Commissioners table $20,758 nursing‑home camera purchase pending itemized quote

Shelley Richards, introduced as the nursing home director, asked commissioners for a waiver of the county purchasing policy to add seven cameras and related software/licensing from their existing vendor, OneSource. Richards said the additional hardware would cover five interior blind spots and two exterior parking areas and would increase storage/retention time for recorded video. Her office reported they currently retain 32–38 days of footage and need more capacity and licenses for added cameras.

The vendor quote presented by Richards totaled $20,758 but did not separate hardware, labor, wiring, and licensing costs. Commissioners pressed for an itemized breakdown and asked whether alternate, non‑proprietary cameras might be compatible. Richards said she would request a more detailed itemization and that some of the software licensing increase is tied to adding camera channels and retention time.

Given the lack of itemization, commissioners agreed to table final approval pending receipt of a breakdown and to revisit the request at the Saturday meeting. No formal waiver or contract award was approved at this meeting.
