Staff said preliminary work is underway and that specific recommendations will return to the board for further discussion before any formal adoption.
Board members discussed how to use the next retreat for board development and whether subcommittees should draft implementation plans for goals such as legislative advocacy. Directors noted that the superintendent-selection process will continue to receive regular updates at board meetings and that budget recommendations will be brought forward as staff refines options.
Next steps: staff will return with more detailed budget recommendations and the consultants' superintendent-criteria report in December; board leadership and subcommittees will outline implementation processes for the other goals as needed.
