Arlington ISD reports higher parent participation and improved satisfaction scores

Arlington ISD on Oct. 16 presented findings from its 2024–25 parent survey, reporting higher participation and increases on key satisfaction metrics.
District staff said 10,988 families responded (about 21% of families), producing a net promoter score (NPS) of 41 — above common cross‑industry benchmarks cited in the presentation — and a PESI (parent engagement and satisfaction index) increase from 3.7 to 3.8. Presenters described what drove gains at high‑performing campuses: targeted family‑facing events, clear monthly calendars, PTA revival, positive staff outreach such as proactive phone calls, and attention to student behavior supports.
The presentation highlighted concrete campus examples: Hale Elementary’s family breakfasts and arrival/dismissal engagement, Starett Elementary’s reestablished PTA, and Moore Elementary’s increased use of leveled communications; secondary campuses used themed events and celebrations to increase engagement. Staff also summarized open‑ended feedback themes: parents praised teachers and inclusivity and asked for clearer academic transparency, more timely grading, and improved dismissal coordination.
Trustees commended the rise in participation (from earlier years) and stressed continued efforts to increase representative sample sizes. District staff said they will continue to share disaggregated data with principals and use parent feedback to inform targeted improvements.
The board accepted the report and moved to the action portion of the agenda.
