County staff proposes BZA rule changes to align nominating schedule with planning commission

Board members discussed timing concerns: some said moving nominations to December would exclude newly seated members who take office in January; others thought identifying a nominating committee in January with elections in February would be an acceptable compromise. The board asked staff to draft redlines of the proposed revisions for consideration at the December meeting and to consult legal about rehearing procedures in section 8 of the rules.

There was no formal vote on rule changes at the meeting; staff said they would return with a written draft for the board to consider in December.
