Community members praise STEM and launch districtwide 'Giving Tree' PTSO drive

Sara Chhadnoff, a hydrogeologist and executive director at the American Groundwater Trust, described running a STEM takeover for K–6 and praised teachers for the experience. She urged the board to maintain smaller teacher-to-student ratios and said the Project Wet Water Festival brought fourth-graders from the White Mountain region to Mountain Meadows for hydrology and watershed lessons.
Jenny Holloway, PTSO president, outlined an expanded Giving Tree project that will place donor gift tags at local businesses, the chamber, coffee shops, district office and schools. She said the drive will run for three weeks with QR-code links on the PTSO Facebook page for donations and noted the effort is intended to bring community appreciation to staff across the district.
Both commenters framed their remarks as community support for teachers and students; no formal board action followed during the public-comment period.
