Metuchen board hears construction and facilities timelines; field house usable Jan. 15

Glassberg said Campbell is effectively complete aside from some interior doors and hardware, and that a separately authorized leveling of Campbell's backfield has been seeded and will be usable in spring. At the high school he reported that furniture for a new board office is scheduled for mid-January delivery and that a high-school field-house addition is anticipated to be ready for use on 01/15/2026. He said the high-school cafeteria addition is expected to be finished by Feb. 13, 2026, noting the timeline reflects the need to relocate temporary board-office spaces prior to final cafeteria work.
The chair described the projects as largely on track, noted that many spaces are already in use despite remaining work, and said the committee will meet again on Nov. 24 for further updates. The presentation was informational; the board did not take formal action on the construction items during this meeting.
