Bonner County commissioners on Oct. 7 approved a notice to proceed for obstruction removal at Sandpoint Airport, a project funded by an FAA Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant previously approved by the board.
Mr. Shook, participating online, told commissioners the work removes trees at both runway ends and is scheduled to be completed no later than Dec. 1, 2025. He recommended issuing the notice to proceed and the board moved, seconded and approved the item, authorizing the chair to sign administratively.
The board took the action after brief questions from commissioners and after staff confirmed grant funding had been previously authorized. No public comment was offered on the item at the meeting. The resolution and administrative signature will allow the contractor to proceed to the field under grant terms.
