Bogey Prairie School Board moves November meeting to Nov. 4, approves routine items

The Bogey Prairie School Board on Oct. 16 voted to move its only November meeting to Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. and approved routine items including minutes from Oct. 2 and the Oct. 16 agenda.

Board members approved the motion to change the November meeting date after the presenter explained there were schedule conflicts in November requiring central office staff and some board members to be elsewhere. The board’s motion to change the date was moved by Miss Darby and seconded by Mister Faulding; the board voted in favor and the motion passed.

The board also approved the minutes of the Oct. 2 regular session (mover: Mister Wiggins; seconder: Mister Bertrand) and approved the Oct. 16 agenda (mover: Miss Brotherton; seconder: Mister Bertrand). A trip request under agenda item 3.02 was approved after a motion by Mister Faulding and a second from Miss Brotherton.

Superintendent announcements focused on communications and upcoming events. The superintendent said the district "will be sending out calendar invites and reminders about the change of date, and we'll also post it on our website" and asked board members to let central office staff know if they wish to join the Bossier Schools day of service, scheduled Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. He also noted three board members plan to attend the LSBA Fall Trailblazer in Natchitoches.

The superintendent told the board that, pending board approval of the Nov. 4 date, an administrative committee meeting will be scheduled followed by an executive session with Mister Geis to discuss four items. The board approved the date change; the administrative committee and executive session were described as planned next steps rather than formal actions at this meeting.

The meeting closed after a final motion to adjourn by Mister Bertrand with a second from Mister Falting; the board voted in favor and adjourned.
