The Boyle County Fiscal Court authorized staff Nov. 25 to advertise for bids for a 2027-delivery ambulance.

EMS leadership explained that vehicles ordered in 2022 are still on backorder and that delivery timelines remain uncertain; staff said anticipated cost is approximately $275,000–$300,000. Magistrates moved and approved permission to begin the bid process to try to secure an ambulance with a 2027 target delivery date.

Court members also discussed options to sell ambulances sooner rather than running them into the ground and to plan for replacement timing once the county’s new facility is occupied. The motion to advertise the procurement passed by voice vote.

County staff will return with bid results and cost estimates at a future meeting.
