Other trustees pushed back, noting that an "ally" designation signals acknowledgement and support rather than proselytizing; the counseling lead clarified that alliance is not missionary work but a stance of acknowledgement and support.
The motion to approve the MOU was made and seconded; the board recorded one opposing vote and the motion carried (vote recorded in the minutes as passing with an opposing vote).
