The council formally swore in two firefighters, Cameron Moore and Ethan Hurley. Each repeated an oath to support the constitutions of the United States and the State of Indiana, to obey lawful orders of superior officers, and to faithfully discharge the duties of the position to the best of their ability. The mayor and council offered brief congratulations; photos were taken after the ceremony.

No formal vote was required; this was an administration item to recognize newly hired public safety staff.
