The Caddo Parish School Board on Nov. 18 voted to revise policy EFAB to add language prohibiting employees from posting or sharing content that supports, incites or glorifies unlawful violence or threats of harm toward any individual or group and that poses a reasonable risk of disrupting workplace efficiency or undermining public trust.
Miss McLean moved the revision and Mister Little seconded. Board members debated whether the new language was redundant with existing employee-conduct policy (GBRA) and how enforcement would work. Board counsel said the new wording would give the district clearer grounds to address online conduct that crosses into the workplace and disrupts operations, and that the legal standards referenced derive from case law on public-employer restrictions.
After discussion the board proceeded to a voice/electronic vote and approved the EFAB revision. Counsel and several members emphasized that any enforcement would need to follow due process and that the policy would be applied in conjunction with existing employee-conduct standards.
