Arlington ISD trustees on Nov. 20 approved a districtwide targeted improvement and turnaround plan focused on using district-adopted high-quality instructional materials (HQIMs) and monitoring classroom implementation.
District officials framed the plan as a three-year effort: implement systems in year one, deepen practice in year two and sustain improvements in year three. Dr. Brett Champion, executive lead on accountability, said the strategy is “intensive curriculum and instruction improvement,” with a specific focus on scope-and-sequence fidelity, productive student struggle and rigorous pacing.
