Commission hears jail pod HVAC fix, contractor to cover work; inmate population fluctuating

Unidentified Speaker (S3) provided operational context, saying the jail population has varied, with peaks up to 405 and lows around 342, and that the county has been using the first floor to move people while work proceeds. S3 projected an average population "up around that upper 380 on average." The speaker contrasted that with the previous total of 348 for the earlier configuration.
Commissioners also briefly clarified prisoner property rules (televisions and other items) and discussed furniture procurement related to facility moves. No policy changes or votes on the jail additions were taken at the meeting; staff will continue with contractor repairs and return with pricing and procurement details for furniture.
