The Carroll County board voted to approve two drain repairs after secondary-roads staff described damaged tile infrastructure.
Unidentified Speaker 4, speaking during the Secondary Roads item, said one repair was near Litterdale in Section 10 of Grant Township involving roughly "60 feet" of cracked 10-inch tile in a shallowly covered section. He said crews had to "find a good place to tie back into" undamaged pipe. The second repair, he said, was a tile blowout on a 6-inch line in Section 35 northeast of Lauderdale. "Nothing out of the ordinary on that one," he said.
Speaker 1 moved to approve the two drain repairs; the motion was seconded and the board voted to carry the motion. The item included a brief exchange about who would coordinate with the property renter about protecting the repaired tile for the future.
The board did not specify a contractor or full cost estimate for both repairs during the discussion. Staff characterized the work as typical maintenance to restore flow and to address shallow cover and cracking on older tile runs.
The board moved on to the next agenda item after the vote.
