Board hears JROTC presentation as district plans to expand program

Colonel Prescott highlighted a promotion and leadership awards ceremony scheduled for Dec. 19 that will designate ranks and recognize cadet leadership roles.
The presentation emphasized partnerships with higher-education institutions and community groups to support post‑high‑school pathways. Board members asked about recruitment and coordination; the presenters said outreach and cross-school collaboration will be central to the planned expansion.
The board did not take formal action on the presentation itself; staff said they would return with implementation details and enrollment targets if the expansion proceeds.
