Chester-Upland School District held its 2025 school board reorganization, swearing in newly elected directors and electing interim officers to preside while the board completes organizational business.

The meeting opened with the oath of office, which invoked the U.S. Constitution and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Amanda Johnson was called forward and sworn in as a school director, and additional newly elected directors took the same oath. The board noted that new directors’ official terms begin Dec. 1, 2025.

Board members then nominated and voted on interim officers to run the reorganization. A motion to appoint a temporary president was moved and seconded; after a roll call and a brief recount, Amanda Johnson was announced as temporary president to preside during the organization process. The board opened nominations for vice president, conducted a roll call, and recorded Beverly Harris as the vice president nominee and confirmed her placement by vote.

Because a sitting director was ending a term, the board also moved to nominate a treasurer. Dr. Aisling Morales was nominated and, following the nomination process and a roll call, was named treasurer.
