Cherry Creek Board welcomes new director and approves consent agenda

President Garland opened the Oct. 20 Cherry Creek Board of Education meeting by welcoming newly seated Director Jean Claude 'JC' Futrell and noting it was his first vote. The board moved to approve the meeting agenda and minutes by recorded roll calls and subsequently approved the consent agenda, which included resolutions numbered 25.10.1 through 25.10.9.
Procedural motions were handled by voice motion and roll call. For the agenda approval motion, recorded roll call votes were read aloud with Directors Allen, Bates, Egan, Futrell and Garland voting 'Aye' and the motion carrying. The minutes approval roll call included Directors Allen, Bates, Beacon, Boutrel and Garland recorded as 'Aye.' Later in the meeting the consent agenda passed on roll call with Directors Allen, Bates, Egan, Futrell and Garland voting 'Aye.'
President Garland announced the next regular meeting will be Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at 7 p.m. at Fox Ridge Middle School on East Arapahoe Road in Aurora. The board adjourned following a motion and roll call.
