District reports compliance on 55 of 57 Division 22 standards; two corrective actions ongoing

Shelley Reggiani and accountability staff presented the District’s Division 22 standard assurances for the 2024‑25 school year at the Oct. 14 board meeting.

Staff explained that Division 22 comprises more than 50 rules organized into five categories: high‑quality learning experiences, aligned and focused education systems, engaged partners and communities, safe and inclusive schools, and committed and supported staff. The district certified compliance on 55 of 57 standards for 2024‑25; two items required corrective action.

The first corrective item involved middle‑school physical‑education minutes; staff said schedules have been adjusted for the current year and the district expects to be in compliance next year. The second corrective item relates to the instructional‑materials adoption schedule; staff said the adoption is on schedule to complete by 2027 and that an updated corrective action plan was submitted in October 2023.

Staff said the full compliance report will be posted on the district website by Nov. 1 and that the district will submit assurances to the Oregon Department of Education no later than Nov. 15. ODE will review the submission and follow up if additional information or interventions are required.

Board members thanked accountability staff for the work involved in the report and discussed the broader state accountability bill and reporting timelines. Staff noted that changes to Division 22 reporting are under discussion at the state level and that any significant changes are not expected to take effect until 2027 or later.
