Chester-Upland receivers approve routine agendas as superintendent outlines charter oversight plan and dashboard

Dr. Moline reported enrollment of "approximately as of October 20, 3,200 students in the school district" and listed upcoming dates, including staff in-service days on Nov. 4 and Nov. 26, the end of the first marking period on Nov. 7, parent-teacher conferences and a district science fair scheduled for Dec. 17 at Chester High School from 10 a.m. to noon.
Student representative Miss Murtaugh gave a short update on student activities, noting STEM seniors' events, a Parent University session on Oct. 1 and grievance-mediation work: "We were up to 27 grievances. We're able to resolve 8 of those. We have 18 that we're actively working to resolve. So parts of that we're working on, some that the district is working on. And we're only in 4 right now they're in arbitration status."
The meeting closed after public comment and brief district responses. Receiver Nichols thanked attendees and said the district remains on a "road to recovery" before adjourning.
