Judge Chaffin administered the police‑officer oath to John Theis and Shaquia Favors during the Chickasha City Council meeting. The two new officers raised their right hands and affirmed that they would “defend, enforce, and obey the Constitution and the laws of the United States and the State of Oklahoma,” and that they would “faithfully discharge” their duties and protect the public trust.
The oath was given as an agenda item early in the meeting; council members and attendees offered brief congratulations after the ceremony. The council then moved on to routine business, including the consent docket and other agenda items.
