The Cheektowaga Planning Board on Nov. 26 reviewed an amendment to an approved site plan for 63‑86 Transit that would add 42 parking stalls and a gazebo shelter near the property’s dog park. The board discussed concerns about wetland buffers, headlights on Transit Road, driveway widths and ADA requirements and referred the project to both the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the town’s Traffic Safety committee.

Board staff noted the Erie County Department of Environment and Planning had recommended screening along Transit Road; NYSDOT had suggested installing a full‑height curb along the private property edge to reduce the risk of vehicles entering the public right‑of‑way. Members questioned drive‑lane widths near the new end spaces and asked the applicant to provide a truck template and clearer dimensions.

The chair recommended tabling the item while DEC reviews wetland‑buffer issues and while Traffic Safety assesses whether adding stalls triggers additional ADA requirements. “My recommendation would be to table this item for DEC consideration of the wetland buffer and [Traffic Safety] committee consideration of ADA stalls,” the chair said. The board moved to table the application; staff will circulate DEC and Traffic Safety feedback for the board’s December meeting.
