Program staff said applications will open Jan. 5 and close Feb. 8; the lottery is scheduled for Feb. 11 and parents will be notified on or before Feb. 20 if their child was accepted or placed on the wait list. Public and nonpublic students will be eligible to apply. Second‑grade applicants will be screened for Spanish proficiency before final enrollment, staff said, and the district will advertise parent‑information nights and provide recorded sessions and interpreter support to make the process equitable. A key condition of the current rollout is that families must provide transportation for accepted students.
