Board approves bills, tentative tax levy, welding MOU, building bids and personnel actions

Tentative tax levy for 2025: Administration presented the tentative 2025 tax levy for board approval. The board moved (Mister Patterson) and seconded (Mister Whitcomb) and approved the tentative levy by roll call vote; the item proceeds as tentative and will be part of the statutory levy process and public notice requirements.
Welding MOU with District 510: Doctor Williams presented an interdistrict memorandum of understanding to share a welding program between District 228 and District 510 that had been reviewed at Committee of the Whole; the board approved the MOU after a motion by Mister Patterson and a second from Mister Whitcomb.
Capital project bids (17101 71st Avenue): Bids were presented for multiple trade packages for work at 17101 71st Avenue (demolition, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire suppression and general trades). Administration identified recommended low responsible bidders and base/alternate amounts (examples in the record: Midway Contracting Group LLC base demo bid $80,000; Global Electric Company electrical base bid $431,000; DBM Services general trades base bid $939,000). The board approved the recommended bids.
Personnel and administrator contracts: The board approved retirements, leaves of absence, resignations, new hires and administrator contract approvals (doctor Rosinski and Mister Meadey) as presented by the personnel office; the motion was moved (Mister Whitcomb), seconded (Mister Patterson) and approved by roll call.
Votes: Each of the listed agenda items was moved and seconded in open session and carried by roll call; the meeting transcript records board members saying "Aye" on each roll call. The board announced the next regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7:00 PM at Bremen High School and then adjourned.
