Commission approves reversion to acreage for two Reno Highway lots and forwards recommendation to county commissioners
Summary
The planning commission approved a reversion to acreage (PC 2059) to merge two lots at 7925 Reno Highway for Jim Menasini Petroleum LLC and forwarded the recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners; staff said the county has little discretion to deny such requests and a utility easement will remain.

The Churchill County Public Works and Planning Commission voted unanimously to approve a reversion to acreage requested by Jim Menasini Petroleum LLC and to forward the recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners.
David Crook of Luminess and Associates said the application is a simple reversion to acreage "removing 1 lot line to, take 2 lots and just create the 1." Amos Akena, Public Works Planning and Building, told the commission the lot merger will not change existing conditions, that a 10‑foot public utilities easement will remain, and that staff found no issues under the reversion criteria.
Commissioner Vicki Sotaghi moved to approve PC 2059 subject to the staff report conditions and to forward the recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners; the motion passed unanimously.
The action will be forwarded for final decision by the Board of County Commissioners as with other map and PUD applications.
