The Churchill County Public Works and Planning Commission agreed to review the special use permit SUP1077 for Sage Valley RV Park again in one year after an on‑site update from general manager Joey Jennings.
Joey Jennings told the commission the project has faced challenges with a shallow water table and state permitting for septic systems but recently received approval to split an initially required 6,000‑gallon tank into two tanks and secured a discharge permit. "We just got approval on that, about, week and a half ago, and the tanks are set," Jennings said, adding that the west side of the park is finished and the applicant would begin work on the east side.
Dean, planning staff, confirmed spacing and other SUP‑related conditions are being met for the completed portion and that outstanding conditions will be wrapped up as construction continues. Commissioner Joe Frey moved to review the application in one year; the motion passed unanimously.
The one‑year review keeps the SUP active while remaining conditions are completed; the applicant and staff said they expect the second phase to proceed more quickly now that the state discharge permit and tank installation are resolved.
