- Approved the agenda as submitted. - Approved the minutes of May 21, 2025 after a motion finding staff shortages delayed minute completion. - Approved a reversion-to-acreage parcel merger for Jim Messini Petroleum LLC at 7925 Reno Highway (PC 25-9) subject to the conditions in the staff report. - Approved the Sand Creek tentative subdivision map (PC 25-58) submitted by Casey Road LLC to create roughly 180 single-family lots, subject to staff conditions including required phasing, a 12-inch water line upgrade, and a financial arrangement for road maintenance. - Heard a presentation from Churchill Animal Protection Society (CAPS); approved continued annual support of $17,000 for FY26 and appropriated $10,812 of previously authorized funds toward drainage repairs in the kennel area; also authorized use of any remaining funds from that appropriation for necessary facility repairs and requested an accounting of expenditures. - Tabled the request to advertise for bids for civil improvements and paving of the employee parking lot at 270 South Main pending county road-department cost estimates and further review. - Recommended Monte Morrison to the governor as Churchill County’s rural representative to the Nevada Clean Energy Fund board. - Approved a housekeeping revocation of outdated official oaths on record in the recorder’s office. - Recommended County Manager Chris Sprouse to the governor for appointment to the State Land Use Planning Advisory Council (SLUPAC) and designated Joe Sanford as alternate. - Appointed Joe Sanford to replace Chris Ross on the Fallon Golf Course board for the remainder of the term ending 12/31/2026. - Ratified advanced step placement for two former cart employees hired as county transportation specialists (step 2, grade 30). - Adopted updated FY26 job titles and pay tables (including newly created positions) and approved hiring within the updated pay table. - Approved an advanced-step placement (grade 83, step 12) and appointment for a chief civil deputy district attorney following extensive discussion. - Created a Senior Deputy Public Defender position (grade 79) and approved adding the position to the pay table; staff indicated the state Department of Indigent Defense would reimburse eligible costs above a base county threshold. - Approved the consent agenda items as presented.
