The council authorized issuing an RFP to solicit proposals for demolition of the green storage tanks at Con Brown Harbor. Staff said they have ordered a testing kit after initial testing indicated the tank paint contains lead and that they will identify proper disposal and remediation processes before awarding a contract.

Councilors agreed it is prudent to advertise to determine cost estimates and identify funding sources; staff said RFP responses will inform budgeting and award decisions.
