Council members voted to authorize issuance of a request for proposals for a pavilion at Community Park funded by the Aransas Pass Municipal Development District. Mitchell Carrillo of Lynn Engineering presented a site plan and floor layout for a pre‑engineered metal building approximately 110 by 180 feet, configured to provide two basketball courts and three pickleball courts and designed so equipment is off the ground to allow events and concerts with minimal obstructions.

Carrillo described access and circulation, concrete pedestals for flood resilience, galvanized steel construction, a paint warranty on panels, and a one‑year workmanship warranty from the erector. Councilors discussed court markings and concurrent uses, restroom access and ADA requirements; staff noted that portable restrooms can be used for events and that permanent restroom needs could be revisited in future planning.

A council member moved to issue the RFP for construction with funding provided by the Municipal Development District; the motion received a second and was approved on a voice vote.
