Andrew Williams, who identified himself as a member of the "Concerned Citizens of Chesterfield County," used the Nov. 5 public-comment period to criticize the council's conduct and publicly allege criminal conduct by Council member Ethan Ford.
Williams said he was responding to a Facebook post by a council member and said the concerned-citizens group was formed to represent residents' interests. He then alleged, citing "your police report," that Ford "shoots into an occupied fleeing vehicle with an attempt to shoot a bystander in the back," and asked why the incident was "swept under the rug" and why Ford retained privileges. Williams said he believed the matter merited greater accountability and urged the council to respond.
The statement at the microphone was an allegation presented by a member of the public; the council did not offer a response or take action on the assertion during the meeting. Council members and staff present did not corroborate or dispute the claim on the record at Nov. 5. The statement referenced law-enforcement materials (a police report) and therefore should be treated as an allegation pending independent verification by the appropriate authorities.
