Students announce district holiday gift-card drive and coat/toy collection; district dates for winter break posted

- A gift-card drive organized by the district’s homeless education department requesting $25 gift cards from supermarkets, department stores, and restaurants; cards are being accepted through Dec. 3, 2025. Contact information for the homeless education department was provided in the announcements.
- A coat and toy drive accepting new or gently used coats and toys through Thursday, Dec. 11, with distributions scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 17.
Students also noted the district calendar: offices and schools will be closed Dec. 22, 2025–Jan. 2, 2026 (semester break), with students returning on Jan. 7, 2026; Jan. 5 and 6, 2026 are professional learning days for employees (security staff excepted).
Why it matters: The drives coordinate community support for families in need; the district calendar information is operationally important to students, staff and families.
What’s next: Donations will be collected through the dates listed and distributed per the announcements; the homeless education department was given contact instructions for those who wish to contribute.
