Council approved several routine consent and procurement items covering equipment, grants and contract changes.
Parks & Recreation presented a quote for a Hustler mower to support soccer-field maintenance; staff said the purchase was in the budget and that about $30,000 would remain after the transaction. Public safety presented two quotes for vehicle equipment for two 2026 vehicles and recommended a new installer; council approved the combined purchase, with staff noting the vehicles should arrive ready for service.
On grants and contracts, council approved a subrecipient grant agreement with CCOG to cover a portion of engineering and planning personnel costs and a six-mile corridor study; staff said the city would receive approximately $90,145 in federal funds. The council rescinded an Astera satellite overflight contract previously approved for leak detection and approved a quote from DGR to update GIS maps at a cost not to exceed $10,000, with staff saying the GIS update is a higher short-term priority.
Other routine approvals included annual garbage hauler and sewer-cleaning licenses, a 15% Sioux Valley Energy street-light maintenance rate increase effective Jan. 1, and final pay applications for drainage maintenance projects. Each item was moved, seconded and approved on voice votes.
