Procurement and projects: Council authorized issuance of requests for proposals for hot mix paving for the Lighthouse Lakes improvement project and for piping materials for the Jackson Place drainage project; staff said bids will be solicited and awards returned to council.
Fall feast catering: Council awarded the annual fall‑feast catering to Butter Churn Restaurant. Staff said three quotes were solicited for roughly 750 attendees; Butter Churn offered discounts reducing the final presented price to $8,625 and the award carried.
Emergency services MOU: Council approved a five‑year memorandum of understanding with Aransas Pass Independent School District designating the Civic Center as a coordinated reunification/emergency site; staff noted routine check‑runs and potential internal staffing costs if the Civic Center were activated.
Appointment following executive session: After an executive session under Texas Government Code section 551.074 (personnel matters), council voted to appoint Sal Hernandez as city secretary; terms were moved in open session and the motion carried.
