Bangor council approves discontinuance of portion of Pushaw Road
Summary

The City of Bangor council voted to approve council order 26-020 on Nov. 24, accepting the engineering report and discontinuing a segment of Pushaw Road northeast of Finson Road.
Councilor Beck moved to pass the order and provided an amended Exhibit A map to replace the original. The council approved the amendment and then passed the order as amended. The order states there will be no damages paid to abutters, no easement retained on the discontinued portion, and that the discontinued portion will become part of the abutting lots.
The motion was seconded and, after no objections, had passage. The discontinuance follows an earlier council direction (Oct. 27, 2025) for the director of engineering to begin the process after determining the right-of-way was no longer necessary to serve the public.
Next steps: the discontinuance takes effect per the terms of the order; the clerk’s office will maintain the record and the corresponding property descriptions.
